Do I need a permit for my alarm system?

I have a home security alarm system, but it is not monitored by an alarm company.  Do I still need an HPD alarm permit?  In Honolulu County, Oahu, Hawaii the answer is Yes.  If the alarm rings, and a neighbor or passer by calls the police, you will be fined $100 for not having a permit.  Of...
